Starrag S1250 HD

Hydrostatic bearings bring about a leap in performance in titanium machining

The S1250 HD is predestined for simultaneous 5-axis heavy machining of titanium and Inconel parts due to its excellent static and dynamic properties.

The user derives the greatest advantages from the use of hydrostatic guides in roughing operations. Due to the significantly higher rigidity and damping compared to roller guides, the cutting depths can be increased threefold. The roughing times are reduced accordingly.

The new S1250 HD also benefits from the hydrostatic bearing during finishing. The increased rigidity reduces pitching of the column, which limits jerking and acceleration. The higher dynamics are noticeable in higher starting speeds, accelerations and faster five-axis movements. This ultimately also reduces the finishing times.

The S1250 HD is the only machine in its size that features hydrostatic guideways.

The highly rigid machine structure coupled with the massive guide structure and with preloaded hydrostatic handle guides can increase the dynamics and the roughing performance.

To achieve highest material removal rates, it is decisive to have a balanced design without weakness. Here the extremely compact milling heads are built stiff and accurate.

In addition to the high stiffness, the compact milling head, means shorter tools can be used giving additional stability.

Tool handling

The S1250 HD machines are equipped with state-of-the-art tool magazines and tool changers manufactured by the Starrag Group.

With a range of tool magazines up to 465 places per machine (HSK-A125), the right solution can be selected for any application.

Precision and process capability
